Mochar Dhokar Dalna / Bengali style dhokar dalna with banana blossoms

How are you all my foodie friends? Today i am sharing the recipe of mochar dhoka which i made a few days back . I always try to make something different for everyday cooking and this dhoka is a result of that. Dhokar dalna is an age old bengali delicacy we bengalis make during festivals which is without onion and garlic and we can offer this dhokar dalna to god. Mochar ghonto is something which is also cooked for the same reason. So I thought why not mix them both and make a single dish which tastes awesome and incorporates greater nutrition than our traditional dhoka?
Yes they look good too. What say?
Yes the process of making this dhokar dalna is lengthy. But you can break the task. What i did was cleaned and separated banana blossom florets from the petals and kept them in turmeric water for overnight and made dhoka on the next day. By adding turmeric in water and keeping florets in that water you can avoid blackening of the florets. You need to soak chana dal overnight too so preparing the banana florets along with them will be a good idea.
I made the dhokas and the gravy on the next day morning. Nice aroma and the exitement of cooking something different made me so happy and I thouroughly enjoyed making this dish.
